Men's First Varsity Eight, Offiaeli Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The men’s crew first varsity eight and women’s track & field sophomore thrower Kendra Offiaeli have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of May 7-13, Brown announced on Monday.

First Varsity Eight, Men’s Crew
The men’s crew first varsity eight earned a bronze medal at the 2018 EARC Eastern Sprints on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond. The Bears took third place in the first varsity eight grand final behind a time of 5:58.232, trailing second-place Harvard (5:58.072) by just 0.160 seconds and topping fourth-place Princeton (5:58.728) by 0.496 seconds. 

Kendra Offiaeli, Women’s Track & Field, Sophomore, South Windsor, Conn.
Sophomore thrower Kendra Offiaeli came in second place in the shot put at the 2018 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships this past weekend at Princeton University’s Weaver Stadium. A native of South Windsor, Conn., Offiaeli registered a lifetime personal-best toss of 49-11.75, the fourth-best mark in the Ivy League this season.
