Brown Places 13th at NCAA Fencing Championships
March 25, 2012For the second-straight season the Brown fencing team finished 13th overall at the NCAA Division I Championship. The Bears were represented in every weapon at the 2012 tournament and sent a program-high six fencers to Ohio State. Brown was one of only nine schools in the country to have a fencer in all events.
Brown Fencing Headed to Ohio State for NCAA Championships
A Brown program record six fencers are headed to the 2012 NCAA Division I Championships on March 22-25, hosted by Ohio State. Head coach Atilio Tass and the Bears look to improve on impressive 13th-place finish last season as the squad boasts a fencer in each of the six events at this year’s tournament.
Brown Sets New Program Record as Six Fencers Qualify For NCAA Division I Championship
Last year Brown fencing set a new program high by sending five fencers to the NCAA Division I Championship. This year, the record has been topped once again, as six student-athletes are heading to the national tournament after their performances at the Regional Championships, hosted by Boston College on Sunday, March 11.
Six Brown Fencers Earn NFC Distinctions
The Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) has announced their regular season awards and Brown has earned several honors including the a share of the women’s championship and combined team championship. Six fencers were named to the NFC All-Star teams, three first and three second teamers.
