


Winter Academic All-Ivy Announced
April 11, 2012The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity athlete teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Kia Mosenthal Wins Slalom at USCSA National Championships as Bears Win Slalom Team Title
Senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) had the fastest time in the second run at 52.30 to clinch first place and take home the USCSA National Title in the slalom on Friday afternoon. Mosenthal earned a time of 53.72 in the first run, which was also good for first overall. Combined with a 12th place finish by sophomore Maria Mastanduno (Hanover, NH) and a 13th place finish by sophomore Emma LeBlanc (Darien, CT), the Bears also took the slalom Championship.

Skiing Wins USCSA Regional Championships
The Brown women’s skiing team continued its undefeated season, winning both the giant slalom and slalom at the 2012 Regional Championships to claim the USCSA Eastern Regional Championship Title. Senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NY) won the overall title, finishing fourth in the giant slalom and first in the slalom. Her younger sister, freshman Nika Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) took second overall, winning the giant slalom and taking 8th in the slalom.

Skiing Closes Out Regular Season With Pair of Wins
Led by senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH), the Brown skiing team closed out the regular season by winning the final two races, a slalom and giant slalom held at Crotched Mountain, NH. With the wins, Brown finished the season by winning all 10 races and finishing 15 points ahead of second place St. Anselm in the final Macconnell Division Standings. In addition, with a second place finish in the giant slalom and a win in the slalom, Mosenthal won the regular season Individual Championship, finishing with 497.5 points, 147.5 more than the second place finisher.
