Baseball Posts Six All-Ivy Selections, Three Named First Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Seniors Rob Henry (Cranston, R.I.), Josh Huntley (Aurora, Colo.) and Marc Sredojevic (Mendham, N.J.) of the Brown baseball team were named First Team All-Ivy, announced Thursday in a vote by the league's eight head coaches. In addition, Christian Taugner (Roselle, Ill.) was named to the second team, and Sam Grigo (Westbrook, Conn.) and Cameron Deere (Los Angeles, Calif.) collected honorable mention accolades.

Brown landed multiple first team honorees for the second straight season and had three selections on the first team for the first time since 2010.

Henry was a unanimous first team selection and earned all-league honors for the second time in his career. The center fielder hit for a .390 clip during league play and paced the Bears in overall runs scored (31), triples (5) and stolen bases (9). He also put together a 31-game reached base streak during the season as the team's leadoff hitter and finished with 176 career hits.

Huntley earned first team honors for the second time in as many seasons, catching 33 of 37 games, including every league contest. He led the Bears with 36 RBIs, driving in 24 runs during league play, and threw out 13 runners from behind the plate.

Sredojevic put together a standout year at first base, going the entire season without an error, as he also led the Bears with a .339 overall batting average. He hit .409 in Ivy games and paced the team in slugging (.484), on-base percentage (.459) and walks (25).

A two-time All-Ivy selection, Taugner capped an impressive career with another solid campaign as the ace of the pitching staff. He ranked second in the Ivy League with a 2.65 earned run average during league season and also picked up four overall wins with five complete games. He surrendered just 12 walks in 60.0 innings as a senior and finished with a 2.64 career ERA.

Grigo earned All-Ivy accolades for the first time in his career as he paced the Bears with 47 hits as the right fielder. He batted .313 on the season and added 24 runs scored with 12 multiple-hit games. Grigo also put together a 15-game hitting streak during the season.

After missing the first half of the season due to injury, Deere returned to the lineup at the start of league play and batted .392 against the Ivies as a rookie. The utility played second base, served as the designated hitter and also pitched, finishing with 15 RBIs at the plate.
