Matt Sullivan Named Winter Academic All-Ivy

The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity athlete teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Sean McGonagill Named To All-Ivy Men’s Basketball Team
Brown sophomore guard Sean McGonagill (Brookfield, IL), who set a single season Brown assist record, has been named to the 2012 All-Ivy Men’s Basketball Team, earning second team honors, in a vote of the Ancient Eight basketball coaches.

Brown University Decides Not To Renew The Contract of Head Men’s Basketball Coach Jesse Agel
Brown University Director of Athletics Michael Goldberger announced today that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Jesse Agel would not be renewed. Agel’s contract expires June 30, 2012.

McGonagill Sets Single Season Assist Record In 81-47 Loss To Princeton
Princeton used a strong second half surge to pull away from Brown and earn an 81-47 Ivy League victory over the Bears at Jadwin Gymnasium behind junior Brandon Connolly’s 14 points. Brown sophomore point guard Sean McGonagill handed out four assists in the game and established a new Brown single season record for assists with 157, breaking the previous mark of 155 by Jason Forte in 2002-2003
