Brown Faces Yale in First Ivy Challenge of 2012

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown Men's Crew has its first race of the 2012 season this Saturday, March 24, when the Bears head to Connecticut to Take on Yale. Bruno and the Elis will each field three eights, culminating in the varsity eight event. A free live video stream for the event is available.

Two years ago the Yale varsity eight lost to Brown at home by just 1.8 seconds. Last year, the Bulldogs closed that margin up to 0.43 seconds, but Brown still defended their home course on the Seekonk River.

In the fall the Yale freshmen raced against the Brown freshmen in the Novice 8+ category at the Head of the Housatonic.  Yale just edged the Bears for the win with a time of 15:05.2, as the first of two Brown boats crossed the line at 15:07.2.  The second Brown freshman eight finished fourth with a time of 17:19.0.
