SHELTON, Conn. – Brown University men's crew finished fourth overall in the collegiate men's eight event as the program opened the fall season at the Head of the Housatonic Saturday morning on the Housatonic River.
Brown's top boat placed fourth out of 27 entries in the 8+ Collegiate Men's event, finishing in a time of 12:29.3, trailing only Yale D, Northeastern and Yale C. Brown's B boat was not far behind as the crew secured fifth place at 12:34.4.
Brown entered five total boats in the Collegiate Men's event, claiming 20th (13:29.4), 21st (13:29.7) and 26th (14:12.1), respectively.
The Bears placed sixth at the IRA National Championship last season, reaching the grand finals for the ninth-straight year.
Next up, the Bears will return to the water on Oct. 21-22 for the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.
