Men's Crew and "Pull For a Cure" Featured in Rowing News
October 23, 2009Last weekend at the prestigious Head of the Charles, the Brown crew went head-to-head with some of the top competition from around the world and more than held their own, finishing fifth overall. However, they may have achieved an even more significant victory off the water, as the team raised over $20,000 in less than a month to benefit breast cancer research. It is the latter feat that has gained national recognition for the crew, as they were recently featured in Rowing News.

Men's Crew Beats Elites at the Charles
The Brown mens crew turned in a terrific performance at a snowy Head of the Charles in Boston over the weekend, with the mens crew going head-to-head with some of the top competition from around the world and more than holding its own. Racing against a number of national teams and top collegiate squads, Brunos varsity eight placed fifth in the Championship 8 divison, just four seconds out of second place.

Brown Crew to Race Top Competition at Head of the Charles
The Brown men's crew will look to reprise their excellent finish of 2008 this weekend at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta, where they will take on some of the top competition from around the world. Last year, the Bears took second in the Championship 8 division, losing only to eventual national champion Washington, and beating a number of elite international boats.

Bears Come Up Gold in Season Debut
Rochester, N.Y. The mens crew kicked off their fall season with an impressive showing at the Head of the Genesee over the weekend, taking first and second in the varsity eight, as well as a first in the varsity four. The freshmen were in action as well, taking first place in the novice eight at the Head of the Housatonic as they easily held off a pair of Yale boats for the win.
