Men’s Hockey Receiving Votes in Latest Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's ice hockey team is listed under receiving votes in the latest United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division I poll for the 2017-18 season, released Monday by the college ice hockey website.

Brown was idle last week, but is one of seven ECAC programs receiving votes in the national rankings after the first week of the season. According to the poll, Brown will play against at least six teams listed in the current USCHO top-20 rankings during the 2017-18 campaign, including four from the ECAC along with crosstown rival Providence College and New Hampshire.

The Bears welcome back 19 players from last year's team, including the top six returning scorers, in addition to eight talented newcomers. Senior Sam Lafferty paced the Bears with 35 points last season en route to Third Team All-ECAC honors, while fellow senior Charlie Corcoran posted a team-best 15 goals. Defenseman Josh McArdle was an All-Ivy selection last season and will serve as team captain as a senior.

Brown will open up the season with a home-and-home series against Yale. The Bears will visit Yale on Oct. 27 and then host the Bulldogs the following night in the home opener.

Video of all Brown men's hockey home contests and all Ivy League games, home and away, will be broadcast live on
