    2011 Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Rosa was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Men's Team of the Week and Remick earned a spot on College Soccer News Men's Team of the Week as Brown now prepare to play St. Mary's (CA) in the third round on Sunday, November 27 on Stevenson Field.

The Bears are 11-4-3 overall, and the #11 ranked Red Storm are 14-6-2.

    Bears Advance to Sweet 16 with 1-0 Victory over St. John’s in Second Round NCAA Tournament Game Queens, NY- Junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) tallied his first goal of the 2011 season, and he sure picked the right time to make it count. Remick’s goal at the 47:47 mark gave the Brown men’s soccer team (12-4-3) a 1-0 edge over the ninth seeded St. John’s Red Storm (14-7-2) at Berlson Stadium, and it eventually became the game-winner to advance the Bears into the Sweet 16 for the second straight year.

Brown Scores Three Late Goals to Move Past Fairfield, 3-2, in NCAA First Round On a rainy and cold night on Stevenson Field, taking on a team that had not been beaten in 13-straight games and eventually facing a 2-0 deficit with just 16 minutes left in the match, Brown came back in miraculous fashion, scoring three goals in just over six minutes to advance past Fairfield 3-2. The Bears move on to the 2011 NCAA Second Round, at No. 11 St. John’s, on Sunday, November 20, at 5 p.m.

The Bears, 2011 Ivy League co-champions, are making their 26th appearance in the tournament and their sixth in the last seven years.

    Seven Bears Earn All-Ivy Men’s Soccer Honors Providence, RI- Seven members of the NCAA Tournament-bound Brown University men’s soccer team have earned All-Ivy soccer honors at the conclusion of the 2011 regular season. Junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, and senior midfielder Rob Medairos (Stafford, VA) earned a First Team All-Ivy nod. Earning Second Team All-Ivy honors was junior defender Eric Robertson (San Antonio, TX), senior midfielder Taylor Gorman (Freeport, ME), and senior forward Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec). Senior forward TJ Popolizio (Rexford, NY) received Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades, as well as senior midfielder Evan Coleman (Amherst, MA).

The Bears will host Fairfield University at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 on Stevenson Field. The Bears are making their 26th appearance in the Big Dance, and its sixth in the last seven years.

    Brown Men’s Soccer Named 2011 Ivy League Co-Champions Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team hosted the Dartmouth Big Green in its final home game of the regular season with the Ivy title on the line. The two teams played to a 0-0 double overtime, and later that evening Cornell played host to Columbia in a game that also ended in a tie, 1-1.

With Cornell and Columbia also tying, 1-1, Saturday evening, Brown and Dartmouth will share the Ivy league title, Brown's 20th.

    TJ Popolizio & Sam Kernan-Schloss Earn CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Honors Providence, RI- Brown University senior forward TJ Popolizio (Rexford, NY) and junior goalkeeper Sam Kernan-Schloss (Arlington, VA) have earned CoSIDA Capital One First Team Academic All-District honors. Both are making their first appearance on the team, as both nominations will now be forwarded on to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. The team is selected by voting members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

    Alex Markes Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week Providence, RI- Freshman defender Alex Markes (Valencia, Calif.) played a solid 91 minutes for the Brown men’s soccer team (10-4-4, 4-1-1 Ivy) this past Saturday evening in New Haven as he played an integral role in shutting out the Yale Bulldogs, 1-0, in overtime at Reese Stadium.

    Bears Move into First Place in Ivy Standings with 1-0 Victory over Yale New Haven, CT- For the second straight week, senior forward Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) knocked in a game-winning penalty kick for the Brown men's soccer team. Mandel scored 1:01 into overtime against Yale University to spoil the Bulldogs' senior night at Reese Stadium Saturday evening. The win improved Brown to 10-4-2 overall and moved Brown to 4-1-1 in the league, while Yale dropped to 7-7-2 and 3-3 in league standings.

The Bears are still in contention for an Ivy League title, as they currently sit in second place in league standings, just one point behind first place Cornell. Yale is in fourth place in league standings and is two points back of the Big Red.

    Mandel’s Second Half Goal Propels Bears Past Penn, 1-0 Providence, RI- The blizzard-like conditions on Stevenson Field on Saturday evening didn’t stop the Bears from defending their home field as the squad picked up its eighth shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over the visiting Penn Quakers. Senior Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) scored in the 62nd minute to give the Bears a 1-0 edge in which Brown held onto to improve to 9-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the league and drop Penn to 6-7-2 and 1-4-0 in the Ivy standings.
