2011 Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced
The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Providence, RI- Senior forward Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec) and junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) were named to the Second Team of the 2011 NCAA Men’s Division I All-Northeast Region squad in a recent announcement made by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Saint Mary’s Edges Brown in Overtime, 3-2, In NCAA Sweet 16 Matchup
In a thrilling game at Stevenson Field on Sunday night that needed more than the regulation 90 minutes to decide, it was Saint Mary’s that came up with the golden goal in the 98th minute to advance past Brown, 3-2, in the third round of the 2011 NCAA Championship.

Providence, RI- Senior forward Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec) and junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) played big factors in the Brown men's soccer team's two NCAA tournament wins against #25 Fairfield and #11 St. John's this past week. Rosa was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Men's Team of the Week and Remick earned a spot on College Soccer News Men's Team of the Week as Brown now prepare to play St. Mary's (CA) in the third round on Sunday, November 27 on Stevenson Field.

Men’s Soccer Travels to #11 St. John’s for Second Round NCAA Tournament Game
Queens, NY- The Brown University men’s soccer team will take on the ninth-seeded St. John’s Red Storm at 5 p.m. at Belson Stadium in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this evening. The Bears are 11-4-3 overall, and the #11 ranked Red Storm are 14-6-2.

Bears Advance to Sweet 16 with 1-0 Victory over St. John’s in Second Round NCAA Tournament Game
Queens, NY- Junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) tallied his first goal of the 2011 season, and he sure picked the right time to make it count. Remick’s goal at the 47:47 mark gave the Brown men’s soccer team (12-4-3) a 1-0 edge over the ninth seeded St. John’s Red Storm (14-7-2) at Berlson Stadium, and it eventually became the game-winner to advance the Bears into the Sweet 16 for the second straight year.

Comeback! Brown Scores Three Late Goals to Move Past Fairfield, 3-2, in NCAA First Round
On a rainy and cold night on Stevenson Field, taking on a team that had not been beaten in 13-straight games and eventually facing a 2-0 deficit with just 16 minutes left in the match, Brown came back in miraculous fashion, scoring three goals in just over six minutes to advance past Fairfield 3-2. The Bears move on to the 2011 NCAA Second Round, at No. 11 St. John’s, on Sunday, November 20, at 5 p.m.

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team (10-4-3) will host No. 25 Fairfield University (12-4-1) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at Stevenson Field in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bears, 2011 Ivy League co-champions, are making their 26th appearance in the tournament and their sixth in the last seven years.

Seven Bears Earn All-Ivy Men’s Soccer Honors
Providence, RI- Seven members of the NCAA Tournament-bound Brown University men’s soccer team have earned All-Ivy soccer honors at the conclusion of the 2011 regular season. Junior defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, and senior midfielder Rob Medairos (Stafford, VA) earned a First Team All-Ivy nod. Earning Second Team All-Ivy honors was junior defender Eric Robertson (San Antonio, TX), senior midfielder Taylor Gorman (Freeport, ME), and senior forward Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec). Senior forward TJ Popolizio (Rexford, NY) received Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades, as well as senior midfielder Evan Coleman (Amherst, MA).

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team received an At-Large bid in the 2011 Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Monday evening. The Bears will host Fairfield University at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 on Stevenson Field. The Bears are making their 26th appearance in the Big Dance, and its sixth in the last seven years.

Brown Men’s Soccer Named 2011 Ivy League Co-Champions
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team hosted the Dartmouth Big Green in its final home game of the regular season with the Ivy title on the line. The two teams played to a 0-0 double overtime, and later that evening Cornell played host to Columbia in a game that also ended in a tie, 1-1.

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team hosts Dartmouth College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, to close out the regular-season with a chance to clinch its 20th Ivy League title and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Bears will also be honoring its eight seniors - Austin Mandel, Sean Rosa, Even Coleman, Rob Medairos, Taylor Gorman, Jay Hayward, Mike Manella and TJ Popolizio – prior to the match.

Providence, RI- With the Ivy title on the line, the Brown University men's soccer team (10-4-3, 4-1-2 Ivy) battled Dartmouth College (8-5-3, 4-1-2) to a double overtime scoreless draw this evening on Stevenson Field on senior night. With Cornell and Columbia also tying, 1-1, Saturday evening, Brown and Dartmouth will share the Ivy league title, Brown's 20th.

TJ Popolizio & Sam Kernan-Schloss Earn CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Honors
Providence, RI- Brown University senior forward TJ Popolizio (Rexford, NY) and junior goalkeeper Sam Kernan-Schloss (Arlington, VA) have earned CoSIDA Capital One First Team Academic All-District honors. Both are making their first appearance on the team, as both nominations will now be forwarded on to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. The team is selected by voting members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Providence, RI- Freshman defender Alex Markes (Valencia, Calif.) played a solid 91 minutes for the Brown men’s soccer team (10-4-4, 4-1-1 Ivy) this past Saturday evening in New Haven as he played an integral role in shutting out the Yale Bulldogs, 1-0, in overtime at Reese Stadium.

Bears Move into First Place in Ivy Standings with 1-0 Victory over Yale
New Haven, CT- For the second straight week, senior forward Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) knocked in a game-winning penalty kick for the Brown men's soccer team. Mandel scored 1:01 into overtime against Yale University to spoil the Bulldogs' senior night at Reese Stadium Saturday evening. The win improved Brown to 10-4-2 overall and moved Brown to 4-1-1 in the league, while Yale dropped to 7-7-2 and 3-3 in league standings.

Men’s Soccer Travels to Yale on Saturday
Providence, RI- The Brown University men’s soccer team (9-4-2, 3-1-1 Ivy) will head to New Haven, Conn., on Saturday to take on the Yale Bulldogs (7-6-2, 3-2-0 Ivy) in its final road game of the 2011 season. The Bears are still in contention for an Ivy League title, as they currently sit in second place in league standings, just one point behind first place Cornell. Yale is in fourth place in league standings and is two points back of the Big Red.

Mandel’s Second Half Goal Propels Bears Past Penn, 1-0
Providence, RI- The blizzard-like conditions on Stevenson Field on Saturday evening didn’t stop the Bears from defending their home field as the squad picked up its eighth shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over the visiting Penn Quakers. Senior Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) scored in the 62nd minute to give the Bears a 1-0 edge in which Brown held onto to improve to 9-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the league and drop Penn to 6-7-2 and 1-4-0 in the Ivy standings.

Worcester, Mass. - Junior defender Eric Robertson (San Antonio, TX) scored his first career goal just 1:02 seconds into overtime to lead the Brown men's soccer team (8-4-2) to a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross (1-12-2) on Tuesday evening at Smith Soccer Stadium.

Ithaca, NY- The Brown University men's soccer team (7-4-2, 2-1-1 Ivy) battled No. 25 ranked and currently first place in the Ivy League, Cornell University (8-1-4, 3-0-1 Ivy), 1-1 at Berman Field this afternoon. Freshman Ben Maurey (Downington, PA) tied the game up at the 49:52 mark with his first collegiate goal, a header, after an assist from senior Jay Hayward.

New York, NY- Columbia’s Will Stamatis scored the golden goal at the 101:14 minute mark to lift Lions to a 2-1 double overtime victory over the Brown men’s soccer team on Saturday night. The loss dropped the Bears to 5-4 on the season and 0-1 in the league, while the Lions improved to 4-5-1 and 1-0-0 in the Ivy play.

Senior forward TJ Popolizio (Rexford, NY) and sophomore forward Jose Salama (Madrid, Spain) scored for the Bears today, improving Brown to 3-1-0 on the year, while the Owls were handed their first loss of the year dropping to 2-1-0.

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team earned the season's first win at Stevenson Field with a 2-1 victory over George Mason during the Dunkin' Donuts Brown Soccer Classic on Friday evening. Senior Sean Rosa (Montreal Quebec) scored a goal for the Bears tonight, while senior TJ Popolizio scored a goal and tallied an assist to boost Brown to 2-1-0 on the young season. George Mason dropped to 2-2-0.

Brown Soccer Hosts Dunkin' Donuts Brown Soccer Classic This Weekend
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team is hosting their annual Dunkin' Donuts Brown Soccer Classic presented by Academy Bus this weekend as Holy Cross, George Mason and Temple are in Providence looking to challenge the Bears for the title. The tournament kicks off tonight with Holy Cross and Temple playing at 5 p.m., while the Bears challenge the George Mason Patriots at 7:30 p.m. The tournament ends on Sunday with George Mason and Holy Cross starting out the day with a 12 p.m. kick-off, followed by Brown and Temple at 2:30 p.m.

Providence, RI- The No. 11 ranked Brown men's soccer team will travel to Providence College on Friday, Sept. 2 to take on the Friars at noon in the semifinals of the second annual Ocean State Soccer Classic. The winner of the PC/Brown match will play the winner of the Bryant/Rhode Island game. The games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday Sept. 5 at the University of Rhode Island.

Providence, RI- Providence College sophomore forward Greg Davis scored in the 69th minute to help lead the Friars (2-1) to a 1-0 victory over the No. 11 Brown men's soccer team (0-1) in the semifinals of the second annual Ocean State Soccer Classic at PC's Glay Field. The Bears will now play the loser of the Bryant/URI game in the consolation match at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 in Kingston, R.I.

Providence, RI- The men's soccer team is in their first full week of practices and had their first scrimmage of the 2011 season against New Hampshire this week. Senior co-captain Taylor Gorman (Freeport, ME), along with senior teammates T.J. Popolizio (Rexford, NY) and Jay Hayward (Acton, MA), and junior Bobby Belair (Myrtle Beach, SC), took a few minutes before a practice session to answer a few questions about pre-season, the freshmen and the team's goals for this year. Jason Burnett Completes Brown Men’s Soccer Staff
Providence, RI- Brown University men's soccer coach Patrick Laughlin has completed his coaching staff with the addition of assistant coach Jason Burnett. Burnett joins the Bears from the University of Vermont where he served as an assistant coach for one season working with the goalkeepers.

Brown Soccer Ranked No. 11 in NSCAA Preseason Poll
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team was ranked No. 11 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) preseason poll released this afternoon. The Bears will open up their season in the second annual Ocean State Classic at Providence College on Friday, Sept. 2 at 12:00 p.m., and will then play either Rhode Island or Bryant on Monday, Sept. 5.

Sam Groves Named Assistant Soccer Coach at Brown
Providence, RI- Brown University men’s soccer coach Patrick Laughlin has announced the addition Sam Groves to his coaching staff. Groves, a former four-year letter winner at the University of Hartford, will serve as a volunteer assistant coach with the Bears.

Five Bears Compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
Providence, RI- Five members of the Brown University men’s soccer team (Evan Coleman ’12, team captain Taylor Gorman ’12, TJ Popolizio ‘12, Jay Hayward ’12, and Thomas McNamara ’13) have recently earned the opportunity to compete in the 98th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and helped lead the Western Mass Pioneers through qualifying and into the first round of the Open Cup.

Gorman & McDuff Named 2011 Men’s Soccer Captains
Providence, RI- Senior midfielder Taylor Gorman and junior defender Ryan McDuff have recently been named 2011 Brown soccer team captains after a vote by their teammates. The two helped guide the Bears to a 12-4-4 record last season, including an undefeated 9-0-3 record at Stevenson Field, as Brown made its 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears made its first trip to the Sweet 16 since 2000 with victories over Boston College, followed by a 7-6 penalty kick win against UConn.

Brown University Men's Soccer Coach, Pat Laughlin has announced the addition of seven newcomers to join the 2011 squad. Tommy Arns, Alex Carr, Mitch Kupstas, Jordan Mandelbaum, Alex Markes, Ben Maurey, and Daniel Taylor.
