Brown Athletics Announces 2013 Award Winners at Fifth Annual Senior Luncheon
The Fifth Annual Brown Athletics Senior Celebration and Awards Luncheon was held at Andrews Dining Hall on Monday, May 20, 2013. Over 275 student-athletes, coaches, staff and distinguished guests were in attendance at the banquet to celebrate another year of success in competition, in the classroom and in the community. President Christina Paxson and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes each took the opportunity to address the room and acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of the class of 2013.

Eric Robertson Signs Contract with GBK Kokkola of the Finnish Second Division
Brown men’s soccer senior Eric Robertson (San Antonio, TX) has signed a professional contract with GBK Kokkola, of the Finnish Second Division. He is the second player affiliated with Brown to sign a Finnish contract after former standout Jon Okafor ’11 signed with MyPA, of the Finnish First Division, earlier this year.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –Brown defender Dylan Remick '13 was selected 35th (second round) by the Seattle Sounders in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft yesterday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Inverness, Ill., native is the first Bear drafted into the MLS since Jon Okafor was taken in the third round of the 2011 draft by Chivas USA.

Providence, R.I. - Brown men's soccer senior defender Dylan Remick was named a 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Second Team All-American as announced by the association on Friday afternoon. The last men's soccer player to earn All-American honors was Jeff Larentowicz '05, a current midfielder for the Colorado Rapids, who was named to the team in 2004.

Cory Gibbs '01 Announces Retirement From Professional/International Soccer
Cory Gibbs’01, the most decorated international and professional player in Brown Soccer history, has retired from professional soccer in an announcement made by the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. The club’s 2011 Defender of the Year, Gibbs, a U.S. Men's National Team veteran, brings an end to a 12-year professional soccer career that saw him compete at the top levels in Europe prior to re-joining MLS in 2008.

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team has added eight student-athletes for the 2012 season: Tim Whalen (Amston, CT), Jameson Lochhead (Basking Ridge, NJ), Jack Gorab (Newport Beach, CA), Will Cross (Nashville, TN), Michel Comitis (Cape Town, South Africa), Tariq Akeel (Rochester Hills, MI), Tyler Smith (Kingwood,TX), and Eduardo Martin (Madrid, Spain). The Brown soccer staff believes this is a special class that will contribute to the rich tradition that is Brown Men’s Soccer. The returning group of seniors-to-be has set the bar of expectation high having competed in eight NCAA Tournament matches, most recently reaching the round of sixteen two years consecutively.

Men’s Soccer Team Meets US Ambassador to Spain
Providence RI- The US Ambassador to Spain, Alan Solomont, hosted the Brown University men’s soccer team for some light refreshments at the Embassy Residence in Madrid. Solomont has served as the Ambassador to Spain since December 24, 2009.

Men’s Soccer Travels to Spain for 2012 International Tour
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer team will travel to Madrid, Spain to begin their 10-day International Tour on Friday, March 23. The Bears will test themselves against international competition by playing four matches, the first being against Rayo Vallecano on Monday, March 26th.

Mike Manella Represents U.S. at the Maccabi Pan-American Games
Providence, RI- Brown University men's soccer senior midfielder Mike Manella recently represented the United States at the 12th Maccabi Pan-American Games hosted in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The competition began on December 26th, 2011 and concluded with the closing ceremonies on January 2nd, 2012. Along with 450 other Jewish athletes, Manella participated in this international tournament hosted every four years.
