  • Brown Athletics Announces 2013 Award Winners at Fifth Annual Senior Luncheon

    The Fifth Annual Brown Athletics Senior Celebration and Awards Luncheon was held at Andrews Dining Hall on Monday, May 20, 2013. Over 275 student-athletes, coaches, staff and distinguished guests were in attendance at the banquet to celebrate another year of success in competition, in the classroom and in the community. President Christina Paxson and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes each took the opportunity to address the room and acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of the class of 2013.
  • Eric Robertson Signs Contract with GBK Kokkola of the Finnish Second Division

    Brown men’s soccer senior Eric Robertson (San Antonio, TX) has signed a professional contract with GBK Kokkola, of the Finnish Second Division. He is the second player affiliated with Brown to sign a Finnish contract after former standout Jon Okafor ’11 signed with MyPA, of the Finnish First Division, earlier this year.

    Former Brown men’s soccer defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) has signed with the Seattle Sounders of the MLS. Originally selected 35th (second round) by the Sounders in January’s MLS SuperDraft, Remick officially signed with the team on February 22nd.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. –Brown defender Dylan Remick '13 was selected 35th (second round) by the Seattle Sounders in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft yesterday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Inverness, Ill., native is the first Bear drafted into the MLS since Jon Okafor was taken in the third round of the 2011 draft by Chivas USA.

    Providence, R.I. - Brown men's soccer senior defender Dylan Remick was named a 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Second Team All-American as announced by the association on Friday afternoon. The last men's soccer player to earn All-American honors was Jeff Larentowicz '05, a current midfielder for the Colorado Rapids, who was named to the team in 2004.

    Cory Gibbs’01, the most decorated international and professional player in Brown Soccer history, has retired from professional soccer in an announcement made by the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. The club’s 2011 Defender of the Year, Gibbs, a U.S. Men's National Team veteran, brings an end to a 12-year professional soccer career that saw him compete at the top levels in Europe prior to re-joining MLS in 2008.
