• Brad Thompson Named Winter Academic All-Ivy

    The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity athlete teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

    Brown’s season came to an end at the 2012 College Squash Association National Championship with losses to Williams (7-2), Navy (8-1) and Bates (7-2), as the Bears finished 16th nationally at the Hoehn Cup.
  • Men’s Squash Drops 8-1 Decision To Dartmouth on Senior Day

    The 16th-ranked Brown men’s squash team completed its 2012 regular season with an 8-1 loss to seventh-ranked Dartmouth at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Senior Day. The Bears (9-7) got a superior performance by sophomore Blake Reinson at number two, cruising to a 15-13, 11-9, 11-6 victory.
  • #16 Brown Falls To #4 Harvard, 9-0

    Playing its final road game of the season, the 16th ranked Brown men's squash team ran into #4 Harvard, falling to the Crimson by a 9-0 margin. Blake Reison lost in four games to the Crimnson, while Harvard took the remaining eight matches, 3-0. Brown completes its regular season on Sunday, February 12, hosting Dartmouth. It's Senior Day at Brown's Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion with all the action starting at 2:00 p.m.

  • Men’s Squash Splits With Penn and Drexel

    Brown split men’s squash matches against Penn and Drexel Saturday afternoon, defeating the Dragons, 8-1, while falling to the Quakers, 7-2. The 16th- ranked Bears, 7-5 overall, will travel slightly north to face Princeton in New Jersey on Sunday at 12 noon.
  • Men’s Squash Sweeps Bowdoin and Colby

    Coach Stuart leGassick’s men’s squash team came away with two victories in the Pine Tree State on Saturday, beating Colby, 9-0, and battling for a 5-4 win over Colby. The wins lift the 16th ranked Bears to a 6-4 overall record.

    The Brown men’s squash team was energized to face #1 Yale, who was fresh off an upset win over Trinity. While the Bears battled the Bulldogs throughout the lineup, Yale came away with a 9-0 win over Brown at the Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion.

  • Bears Fall To Cornell and Columbia

    The men’s squash team opened its Ivy League season by dropping matches to Cornell, 9-0, and Columbia, 6-3, at the Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion. Brown had solid play in several matches against the Lions, with sophomore Blake Reinson leading the way with a 3-1 win at number two, 11-0, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7.
  • #13 Brown Sweeps Wesleyan and Connecticut College

    The Brown men's squash team came away from the Wesleyan Round Robin with two solid wins on Saturday, easily handling Connecticut College, 9-0, and defeating Wesleyan, 8-1. With upcoming final exams and semester break, Brown will resume action again on January 14.
  • Bears Take Down Bates, 5-4

    Ranked three places higher in the pre-season rankings, but having graduated two of the top five last year, there were a lot of unknowns on the Brown squad heading into its match with Bates. The end results was a hard fought 5-4 win over Bates.
  • Men’s Squash Team Awards Banquet - Captains Named, Recruits Announced

    The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the Squash Team Banquet at the Waterman Grille in Providence. There were several awards received, including the Best Record at the Team Nationals which went Blake Reinson, who went 2-1 for the weekend with excellent wins at #3 against Williams and Western Ontario. The Most Improved Player award went to Alex Hsu '12.
