  • Spring Academic All-Ivy Announced

    The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2013 spring Academic All-Ivy, with 10 Brown student-athletes earning recognition. The five men and five women were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Cragg, who will work with the Brown distance runners, is a three-time Olympian and multiple NCAA Champion.

    Four members of the Brown men’s track and field team received All-Ivy honors based on their performances at the 2013 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, held this past weekend in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Freshman Ned Willig (Phoenixville, PA) and junior Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, NV) were selected to the first team, while senior co-captain Kenneth Thompson (Riverdale, NY) and sophomore Peter Rhodes (Atlanta, GA) were named to the second team.
  • Brown Takes Fourth at Ivy League Heptagonal Championship to Earn Highest Team Finish Since 2006

    The Brown men’s track and field program earned fourth place this weekend at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Harvard University with 58 points, the team’s highest finish since 2006. Over the course of the two-day meet, the team’s performances were highlighted by two individual titles and two runner-up finishes, in addition to a new school record by junior Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, NV).

    The Brown men’s track and field program competed in the USATF New England Indoor Championships at Harvard’s Gordon Track on Sunday, February 17. Serving as the final competition before league championships next weekend, the meet attracted athletes from Boston University, Dartmouth College, the Greater Boston Track Club and several other programs.
  • Three Runners Turn in All-Time Top 10 Performances at Boston University

    The Brown University track and field program traveled with a partial squad to a make-up meet at Boston University on Thursday, February 14. The abbreviated competition replaced the St. Valentine Invitational that was cancelled this past weekend due to Winter Storm Nemo. In addition to BU, Boston College, Harvard, Dartmouth, Providence College and Northeastern were in attendance.
  • Brown Wins Two Titles at the URI Coaches Tribute Invitational

    The Brown men’s track and field team competed at the URI Track & Field Coaches Tribute Invitational in Kingston, Rhode Island on Saturday. The competition was held in URI’s Mackal Fieldhouse, and included athletes from Providence College, Bryant, Rhode Island, UNH, Fordham and several other schools. The Bears scored 48 points to tie for 7th place, while Rhody won the men’s title with 193 points overall.
