PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's and women's track and field programs continued the outdoor season at a trio of meets over the weekend, competing at the Miami Hurricane Invitational, the Mark Young Invitational and the Sam Howell Invite.
Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational
Ryan Laudermilk (Riverside, Calif.) captured first place in the high jump with a cleared height of 6-9. Jason Katz (Wyckoff, N.Y.) also added a victory in the triple jump with a leap of 23-8.75.
Zion Lewis (Canton, Ga.) won the triple jump with a leap of 41-4.5. Carly Paul (Fort Collins, Colo.) turned in a second-place performance in the high jump with a height of 5-8.5 and also took third in the long jump at 19-4.25.
Tosin Oyewole (Elkridge, Md.) was sixth in the 400 meters at 48.43 and Bretram Rogers (Grand Prairie, Texas) was also sixth in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing at 14.41. May Stern (Providence, R.I.) was sixth in the 400 meters on the women's side at 55.84.
Sam Howell Invitational
Hughes Benjamin (New Orleans, La.) paced the Bears on the track as he topped the field in the 1,500 meters with a winning time of 4:02.42.
Yale Mark Young Invitational
Duke DiEugenio (Fredericksburg, Va.) posted a runner-up finish in the 1,500 meters as he crossed in a time of 4:04.7. Audrey Holt (Alpharetta, Ga.) turned in a third-place finish in the 100 meters at 12.78, while Gwenyth Winship (Bedford, N.H.) and Gracie Whelan (Charlotte, N.C.) went 2-3 in the 400 meters at 57.93 and 58.82.
In the field, Nick Wignot (Scituate, R.I.) was second in the discus with a toss of 135-2 and Michael Coppolino (Cumberland, R.I.) took third in the hammer at 170-7. On the women's side, Olivia Seifert (Rockville Center, N.Y.) was second in the discus at 120-7.
Brown will host the Ocean State Invitational next weekend. Friday night will be held at Providence College and Saturday's meet will take place at Brown Stadium.
