Men's Cross Country Opens 2011 Season at Dartmouth

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's cross country teams will open the 2011 season September 10 at the Dartmouth Invitational. Many of the team's veterans will wait another week before racing the following weekend at the Iona College Meet of Champions.

Senior captains Matt Duffy and Dan Lowry should lead an improved Brown team. Both have been top-4 Heps performers at 5000m on the track. After Duffy and Lowry, the team looks to demonstrate improved depth in filling out the scoring positions. "We're putting the emphasis on developing a deep team," says head coach Tim Springfield. "I think we're on our way."

Joining the Bears are eight freshmen athletes: Will Conway, Dana Dourdeville, Alex Eve, Ben Halpin, Jordan Mann, Mark McGurrin, Arjun Nukal, and Evan Roelke.
