Women’s Tennis Falls to Penn, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Brown women's tennis team fell to Penn, 5-2, on Friday afternoon. Junior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) highlighted the Bears' finishes by knocking off No. 90 Kana Daniel in first singles. Penn won the doubles point and then took four out of the six singles matches for the win.

The Quakers won first and second doubles to take the first point of the match.

In singles play, Benotto defeated 90th ranked Daniel in first singles, 7-5, 4-6 (10-3). Senior Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) posted Brown's other singles victory in the second spot, winning 6-1, 6-2. Lord's singles win brings her career combined record to 176 (89S, 87D), which ties the program mark set by Bianca Aboubakare '11.

The Bears are back in action tomorrow (April 15) with a match at Princeton starting 2:00 p.m.
