Women’s Tennis Downed at No. 42 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Brown women's tennis team was defeated by No. 42 TCU on Saturday, 7-0, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center & Bartzen Varsity Courts.

The Horned Frogs started doubles with a win and second and took the point with a 6-3 victory in the third spot.

TCU was next able to win the singles round. Senior Maddie Stearns (Short Hills, N.J.) won the first set of her first singles match, 6-3, against No. 82 Aleksandra Zenovka, but Zenovka would go on to take the match with two 6-3 set wins. Senior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) (4-6, 7-5, 12-10, second) and freshman Courtney Kowalsky (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-0, 4-6, 6-3) also took their matches to three sets but were edged at the end.

The Bears next play Middle Tennessee tomorrow (March 4) at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center & Bartzen Varsity Courts starting at 10:00 a.m.
