Track & Field Hosts Ocean State Invite, Carly Paul Sets Two School Records

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Carly Paul (Fort Collins, Colo.) set a pair of school records in the heptathlon and long jump at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic and the Brown men's and women's track & field programs posted several individual victories at Ocean State Invitational over the weekend.

Tiger Track Classic
Paul continued her impressive campaign with a standout performance at Auburn over the weekend as she won the heptathlon with 5,509 points, breaking the school record of 5,504 set by Lindsay Taylor in 2000, for second all-time in Ivy League history. She picked up a win in the high jump (5-9.75) and also set the school record in the long jump (20-3.75), beating Emile Berge of South Alabama by 30 points to win the heptathlon. Paul's long jump mark passed Margaret Crumety '93 (19-10.25), who set the previous school record in 1992, and is the first in program history to break 20 feet.

Paul is currently listed 10th in the nation in the heptathlon. She previously won the Ivy League title in the pentathlon and broke the school record in the long jump during the indoor season.
